The details
What does it cost?
A counselling session is $100, payable before or at the start of the session.
Credit card payments are preferred if working online. These can be processed through my telehealth platform, Coviu, during the session.
Cash payments are fine for face-to-face sessions, or I can send you an invoice before the session. Card payments are not available for face-to-face sessions.
If you’re experiencing financial hardship, we can negotiate a fee that is more sustainable for you.
Do you offer rebates under Mental Health Treatment Plans?
Counsellors and psychotherapists are not currently eligible to offer rebates under Mental Health Treatment Plans, the ones you get from your GP.
I always encourage people who are looking for a mental health professional to explore their options and prioritise their ‘fit’ with the therapist above other factors, as that is the thing most likely to determine the success of the treatment.
Can I claim on private health?
Unfortunately, I am not currently able to offer private health rebates on counselling services.
What if I need to cancel?
Cancellations with more than 24 hours’ notice may, at the therapist’s discretion, incur a fee of $30.
Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a fee of 50% of the fee that would have been payable.
Non-attendance without cancellation may incur a fee of 75% of the fee that would have been payable.
Cancellation fees are payable within seven days and before any subsequent bookings.
Late arrival will result in a shorter session time.
Where is it?
If you’re seeing me online, I use a telehealth platform called Coviu which offers the highest standards of security and user-friendliness. Online, I usually work with people in the Greater Melbourne area and regional Victoria, but am open to working with people across Australia.
If you’re seeing me face-to-face, I work from rooms in Murrumbeena, a 5-minute walk from Hughesdale train station in Melbourne’s inner south-east.
Can I contact you outside session times?
Calls or texts outside session times should relate only to booking or administrative details.
I’m not equipped to offer a crisis service. In Australia, the number to dial in a crisis, any time of the day or night, is LifeLine: 13 11 14.
What are your qualifications?
I hold a Master of Counselling and Psychotherapy from the Cairnmillar Institute in Melbourne.
I am a provisional registrant with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia and a Certified Practising Counsellor. Click my official Certified Practising Counsellor badge below to find out what this means.
